Best if you want it handled
A bespoke website
You cannot edit it yourself. There is no login and no dashboard. Every change, from a new photo to a new page, is an email to us, and we make it. Most of our clients prefer it that way: nothing gets broken, and it is not another job on their list.
Best if your team updates it often
A WordPress website
You can edit pages yourself, not just the words, and any WordPress developer can pick it up later. In return it needs regular updates and carries more risk.
Neither is wrong. It comes down to who will be editing the site a year from now. If you, your staff or someone else will be updating it regularly, we will build it on WordPress, and still look after it for you.

What is bespoke website design?
A website designed and built for one business, rather than adapted from a ready-made theme. For us that means two things: the design starts from a blank page, and the code is written for your site too. You will also hear it called custom website design; it means the same thing.
Is a bespoke website worth it?
For most businesses, yes. It is faster, there is far less to go wrong, and nobody has to keep it updated. It is not the right choice if you want to make your own changes. In that case a WordPress site suits you better, and we will tell you so.
How much does a bespoke website cost?
Every build is quoted once we know what you need. Most start from £1,500, which includes your first year of hosting and maintenance. If it helps, you can spread the cost over 12 monthly payments, with no interest and nothing extra to pay.
Can I edit the site myself?
No. There is no login, so anything you want changed comes to us and we do it. Most clients prefer that. If editing it yourself matters to you, tell us early and we will build on WordPress instead.
Do I own the website?
The design, the content and your domain are yours. The site itself runs on our platform, so it could not be handed to another agency as it stands. That is the trade for it being faster and having far less that can break. If being able to move it anywhere matters more to you, we will build on WordPress.
How long does it take?
Most sites take four to eight weeks once everything is agreed. What slows a build down is usually content and photos, so the more of that you have ready, the faster it goes.
Can you replace my current website?
Yes, whether it is on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or something else. We move your old pages across to their new addresses, so links and bookmarks to the old site keep working.
What happens after the first year?
Hosting and maintenance carry on monthly, at a price we agree with you up front. That covers hosting, SSL, backups, keeping an eye on the site, and making your changes.
Do you build online shops?
No. It is not what we do best, and we would rather point you to someone who does it properly.
